
Galway Hurlers make it three-in-row League wins
Galway made it three straight Allianz Hurling League Division 1A victories at the expense of Wexford at Chadwicks Wexford Park. The home-side had 14 wides – nine more than Galway – as goals from Anthony Burns and a Kevin Cooney penalty saw Micheál Donoghue’s men withstand a stirring late Wexford revival.
Galway will be heading to Limerick for their next game before they finish up against Cork and are clear of any danger of relegation The experienced David Burke returned for his first taste of action in 2025 and is the 36th player played by Micheal Donoghue and his management in the League to-date. Final Score: Galway 2-19 Wexford 1-20.

Galway snatch a draw with the last kick
Shane Walsh drove a two-point free into a diagonal wind to snatch a dramatic draw for Galway with the final kick of a cracking game at Tuam Stadium.
Galway kicked four two-pointers in the opening half as the sides went in level at 0-11 to 1-08 on a day when the wind added a degree of difficulty to the shooting.
Tyrone looked set for their second win of the campaign with Matty Donnelly’s two-pointer in the 69th minute. But up stepped Walsh to snatch a draw in the most dramatic fashion at the death to maintain Galway’s unbeaten run. Final Score: Galway 1-18 Tyrone 1-18.

Camogie Association Award for Athenry’s Moira Coen
The 2025 Volunteer of The Year for Galway Moira Coen was presented with her award by the President of the Camogie Association Brian Molloy at a dinner in Croke Park. Congratulations to Moira on receiving the award in recognition of her commitment to Camogie at Club and County level.

Galway let big lead slip away in second half
Galway footballers looked set for a third straight victory when they led by nine points at half-time, but where instead grateful to John Daly's late block on Ethan Doherty's shot with only 10 seconds left on the clock and share the points. It was a remarkable transformation from the home side.
Dylan's McHugh's ninth minute goal which handed Padraic Joyce's team a grip that tightened as the opening half progressed. In the second period Derry’s remarkable transformation saw them outscore the Tribesmen by 0-12 to 0-3 in a second half that they will not be happy with. Final Score: Derry 0-16 (0-1-14) Galway 1-13 (1-3-7)

Tribesmen defeat All-Ireland Hurling Champions at Pearse Stadium
Galway recorded their second win in this season's Allianz League when a strong opening-half performance laid the foundation for a 2-21 to 0-20 victory over Clare side at Pearse Stadium. The Tribesmen led by 2-15 to 0-11 at the end of the opening half with Anthony Burns, starting his first league game for the Tribesmen, shooting 2-02 from play. Athenry’s Eoin Lawless came on in the closing stages.
