1994: County Under 16 Hurling Champions with captain Donal Keane arrive home with Cup. It took extra time in a replay to decide the winners but Athenry prevailed against great rivals Turloughmore winning by 2-13 to 2-10.

1983: Galway Minor Hurling Team win first ever All-Ireland Final. Athenry's Pat Higgins enjoys the moment as Galway captain Anthony Cunningham raises the Irish Press Cup.

1992: Athenry hosted the National Feile na nGael Finals. The Artane Band passes under the North Gate during a spectacular parade of hurling & camogie teams and bands from all over the country
