Minor B Camogie County Title win
Athenry were crowned County Minor B Camogie Champions after a replay with Cois Fharraige winning by 0-12 to 1-2. The team was captained by Niamh Hannon, a sister of Lorna Hannon who captained  Athenry to Minor B success in 2013. Player of the match was Leah Crotty.

Athenry honour first Senior Hurling Title (Reeves Cup) Winners
In the 1967 gale-swept Reeves Cup Hurling Final, Athenry shocked favourites Fohenagh, to win the Clubs first major title at senior level. Winning a competition, for teams knocked out of the championship in the first round, was a timely boost for the newly formed club in it's second year. Athenry had wins over Moycullen and Gort in the closing stages to qualify for the final, which was played at Duggan Park, Ballinasloe.

They won deservedly and were it not for a fine display by the Fohenagh goalie, Des Devine, they would certainly have been much further ahead at full-time. Both sides tried hard to overcome the difficult conditions. Against the wind in the first half goals by Ignatius Madden and Michael Treacy kept Athenry in touch and but they trailed by 3-5 to 2-0 at the break.

Exploiting the wind advantage in the second half winners piled on the pressure and in the eighth minute Noel Keogh lashed home a goal. Another goal by Eamonn King near the end decided the issue in favour of Athenry with the final score Athenry 5-2 to Fohenagh's 3-5.

Norman Farragher Chairman of the East Board presented the Reeves Cup to Athenry Captain T.J. Jordan after the game.

To mark the 50th Anniversary of that success the players and officials involved were present or represented at function organised by St. Mary’s GAA Club in Gills Restuaraunt Athenry. Presentations were made on behalf of the club to each member by former Galway All-Ireland hurling medal winner in 1980/1987 and All-Star P. J. Molloy.
