A CIVIC HONOUR for a Galway and Tuam Stars football hero, on August 4th this year. The captain of the All-Ireland winning Galway team of 1956 and a legendary goalkeeper for Tuam Stars in a golden era signed the visitors’ book after he was welcomed home by Mayor Eamonn Kitt for the official naming of the Jack Mangan Roundabout on PurcellStockwell Road, Tuam — linking Vicar Street with Dublin Road. Organised by Tuam Town Council with the goodwill and assistance of Tuam Stars Football Club, the formal ceremony was a very special occasion.
