102 GLINSK LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB PEARSES CAMOGIE WINNERS The Glinsk Ladies Football Club had a very successful 2012 at Junior Level. It all started back in early June when the team captured the Connacht Junior 7-a-side title for the second time since 2010, beating Menlough/Skehena in a very close final. This title was to be just the beginning for Glinsk and in September the Junior B Championship title was also in the bag after a real battle with Bearna, after a last minute goal sealed the victory. The All-Ireland 7-aside competition was next in October and while the Glinsk Ladies won the Junior Shield in 2010, the cup was firmly in their sights this time around. After a very tough day of football Glinsk went all the way to beat Banteer of Cork in a fantastic final. AllIrelands don't come easy and this title will be remembered for a very long time! Last but not least in November, the Division 2 Shield was won, again beating Bearna in this final. This was the first time the Glinsk Ladies played at Intermediate Level and to get the Shield at the end of the campaign was an excellent achievement. It's onwards and upward for the girls of Glinsk and 2013 will hopefully be another successful year.
